Mama comes to town

My mom has been here for the weekend and we have had such a great time. She took the train from Seattle to Portland on Thursday. I picked her up from the train station and we drove around town to find a funky little restaurant. The best we found, which was pretty darn good, was Pastini’s on NW 23^rd. It was definitely yummy and reasonably priced. We also had to stop at Aloto Gelato which I’ve I had my eye on for a year! So tasty. We went home to our sauna (it’s been 98-100 degrees the past 3 days) and chatted for the rest of the night. Friday, we lazed around until we went to a movie, Travelling Pants (definitely recommend!), at 5. Of course we had to get some shopping in, so we headed down to Lloyd Center and scored for mom on new school clothes. I must say, she is definitely being more adventurous with clothes and, of course, she looks adorable, as usual. Saturday, we pretty much sat around all day until we went to dinner at the Olive Garden (our fav). We watched Michael Phelps make history and chatted some more. I’m so glad she made the trip down!! Even on her lame foot!! I love my mom dearly and am so grateful she is my best friend. I hope there are others of you out there who are lucky enough to know how I feel. Great weekend, thanks mama!!
