Jack has started smiling and cooing. I even caught a short laugh when I was rocking him to sleep the other night. (Now, I know that's not a real laugh, but it is just as cute!) And although I get a little sad when I think of all the things he's already growing out of, I'm loving all the cute new things he's growing into!
Two days old
Six weeks old
Can you believe the difference? Everyone told me how fast he would change, but I had no idea it would be this drastic this soon! It's only been 7 weeks and Jack has gained 3 and 1/2 pounds. That's half his birth weight! He is now 10 pounds 8 ounces. You'd think he'd be fat, but his face is the only chubby part of him. It seems like a lot of his weight is in his length. We go in on the 21st to find out his new stats.
On Wednesday night last week, Jack went from eating every 2-3 hours to sleeping over 6 hours straight. Of course, I didn't sleep 6 hours. I was up every few minutes just waiting for him to wake up, thinking he was going to starve himself! I was sure once he woke up to eat, he would be up for a while, but he went right back to sleep for another 3 1/2 hours. Since that night, he has had only one bad night (the worst one yet!). He's had at least a 5 hour stretch every night! YAHOO!
Last week Parker started his 9th quarter out of 12. It's amazing how the time is flying, especially this last year. The pregnancy and new baby have made this the fastest year of our lives. I'm sure they'll just keep flying. We only have 8 months to a year left here in Portland, depending on how Parker's next few quarters go. As for me, not much going on (thank goodness!) except taking care of Jack. I've decided that staying home is for me, as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong. I've always loved my jobs, but I just love being at home and being in charge of my time. I've been waiting a long time for this, and I'm so glad that I'm enjoying it!

Wow, I see YOU in Jack now, so move over Parker. What a darling little guy. I'm glad you get to stay home too. I always figured if I wanted my kid screwed up I'd rather do it and not a daycare. I did a good job -- my family is twisted.
Oh my gosh he is cute! And I can't believe how much he has grown, that is great! He must be eatin good! Oh and I use those exclamation marks all the time too, it must mean we are happy girls!! So glad to hear all is well with you and your little family!~juliette
I am so HAPPY for you that he is sleeping for longer stretches. Kaylin took forever to do that. I hope he keeps it up because it really is amazing what a little more sleep can do for you. He is so adorable! I can't believe how much he's already changed.
He is such a cute little guy! Enjoy every minute as id does go by faster than you want!!! I love the update! Can't wait to see more Jack!!!!!
