Separation Anxiety (me, not him so much)

How old was your 1st baby when you left him/her with a sitter (grandma, sister, friend...) for the first time?? And what were the circumstances? Date night? Grocery Run? Work?

its so hard leaving the little one the first time!! i found it easier the first time than the second... the first time i left madilyn with jeremy and his mom when she was just a few weeks old to go to a michael buble concert with his dad (i know it sounds funny but we only had 2 tickets and we were the lucky two that got to go!!) but after that and once she was more than 2 months old, i couldn't leave her! i remember the first time we left her with our friends out here in philly, it was to go to an afternoon phillies game together and i cried as they pulled away with her and jeremy had to tell me to go inside. i didn't want to leave her! i stressed the entire game about her even though i knew she was in the most capable hands! its hard to leave them. but don't worry, the day comes when you look forward to having a baby-sitter and enjoy it!! :)

We left Sophia for a whole week when she was 6 months at John's parents house. We went on a cruise with my family. I was so excited to get away for a bit alone with John but on the cruise I cried because I missed her so much! We havnt left Elijah yet and he is turning one so I dont know if it will be the same with the 2nd child. We are going to Vegas in March and leaving him so ill let you know!

I never did. They left me, the ingrates. They sucked me dry and then walked away, leaving me old and bitter.

Jared and I thought we could stand it when Eva was still really new (maybe a few months old?). We left her with my mom for an hour to go to a ward breakfast and did not even make it the full hour before we rushed home. Of course she was crying when we got home, so it took us a while to stop kicking ourselves and feeling like horrible parents. We probably didn't leave her again for months.

It is hard leaving...I usually only go to the grocery store at midnight after the kids are all alseep and that is the only time I am away from them...although Craig and I have gone on the occasional date every once in a blue moon :) It gets easier and you learn to appreciate the break.

I had some one (a good friend with a 1 year old) watch Faith while we went to a movie, she was about 2 and a half months, but I checked my phone constantly, and I left her with my mom once when we were in Las Vegas visiting, and I leave her at day care at church, and have to stop myself from checking on her constantly!!

Hey Carly! Just stopping in...

First time he was very young...I think it was my 6 week postpartum check up? But it was easier when he was so little he didn't care as long as anyone held him. When the separation anxiety kicked in, I couldn't leave him with anyone other than his grandparents until he was 18 months old! I'm fine with the grandparents, but anyone else freaks me out!
